SAUCEKREW / SAUCEKON.

You may have heard of them, seen them play, hated on ‘em but secretly envied their skill. The classic “game zob” as society terms an adept video game player, has been transforming as game technology evolves so rapidly and no longer perceived as just a mindless zombie, frantically beating on buttons (rubbing). St. Lucian Gamers have reached a new plateau of precision and execution- thus understanding, dominating and by applying the codes of the Matrix, bend and exploit the physics of any PC or Console game engine.

Competitive gaming has spawned from humble roots in St. Lucia, and come a long way. The local game arcades are only the foundation for a society based on acknowledging strength, competition, healthy rivalry and peer respect. Nobly moving from an adolescent past time to an honor code and discipline, competitive play is serious business. These principles can be found since the dawn of time, where man has battled competitively to reign supreme over all he surveys. This primal instinct has matriculated even to this modern era in competitive gaming. THE SAUCE KREW has now created the ultimate medium to gather the greatest fighters that St. Lucia has to offer, for 1 on 1 combat to showcase skill, and determine the men from the boys.

SAUCE-KON is a St. Lucian version of the popular EVO 2k gaming tournament held in the USA and Japan. The SAUCEKREW have been ambitiously working underground for years, and are now ready to promote their brainchild of a tourney which has been gaining momentum in the gaming community. The event has been backed by well-known sponsors, and promises to be an excellent and educational experience to all audiences. There are great gamers out there, legends if you will, and these individuals posses a talent that has not been given a proper channel by which healthy competition can arise.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Our organization was about 7 years ago and has been working silently away from the public’s eyes to build a foundation comprising of a solid network of diverse, positive thinking individuals and resources which would provide the capacity to promote, develop and enhance the awareness of technology in business, entertainment, schools and other areas in our island of St. Lucia, in order to increase our visibility on the digital map.

One of the ways that we promote our objectives is by organizing events such as technology exhibitions and computer gaming tournaments open to the public.

..

Having identified computer technology and video gaming as the primary vessel by which to create public awareness, we have planned a calendar of activities for the year of 2008, which shall be open to the public and consist of computer- and console- based gaming tournaments, to allow for very competitive exhibitions of skilled, St. Lucian players.

The organizational process provides a learning curve to committee members and has matriculated skills such as sourcing a suitable location, planning the entire event, creating a budget regime, assigning managing roles to members, costing the event, hosting the event and providing incentives to participants and sponsors alike.

For the year of 2007-2008 we have hosted 2 very successful events entitled Sauce-Kon and Sauce-Kon: Console Wars, which both saw great turnouts and were well received by the attendants who have shown great enthusiasm and always look forward to our future events. These events were promoted only through flyers and mere word of mouth.

To date we have attracted the following help/sponsors:

  • · Choice TV
  • · Digicel
  • · Karib Cable
  • · Blue Reef Real Estate
  • · Vandyke Jude Enterprises
  • · ECCB
  • · Monster Energy - drink of the Sauce Krew(Food Express)

  • · Dominos Pizza - food of the Sauce Krew

The primary attraction of www.SauceKrew.com is that it is very unique for the island in addition to being a highly interactive website where users are provided with incentives based on their activity and contributions to say the very least.

We expect the above website figures to boom as soon as promotions begin through our media collaborations with the Choice TV network in addition to other marketing ventures to place this new concept on the radar of St. Lucian and regional viewers.
